Designer: Bill Dixon
Builder: Marine Projects (Plymouth) Moody 46 Deep keel
The Moody 46 is a safe, stable, very comfortable and roomy blue-water sailboat. It is also a rapid cruiser. The raised saloon provides the light and airy feeling of a much larger yacht. This particular boat is in excellent condition and ready to sail out.
Dancing Lizard is a no nonsense boat with low maintenance characteristics (no teak decks, white hull and no outside varnish). DL was second in its class during the 2011 Caribbean 1500 and 5th overall over 62 boats. She is ready and able to take you anywhere in style and comfort.
Cutter rigged, deep draft, 3rd berth bunk beds
This is the three stateroom model with bunk beds in the 3rd berth.
The forward stateroom has a large centerline berth with hanging locker, storage areas, drawers and a large overhead hatch.
The forward head compartment has an Avonite-topped vanity, head and separate shower area. To port there is a private cabin with overunder bunks and a very large hanging locker and storage.
Going aft into the main salon you'll find a big U-shaped settee to port with a table that can be either cocktail size or fold out to seat six-eight people.
To starboard there are two lounge type seats with a counter between that hides a liquor cabinet. There are cabinets outboard for glassware and shelving on both sides.
To port and aft of the salon is a comfortable nav station with desk, elecrtical panel and repeater from cockpit electronics. The upholstery in the salon and nav station is a rich antique green leather.
Going aft through the walkway you'll find a pilot berth with lots of closet and cabinet storage (currently used as a working station with all the maintenance gear and spare parts), 2 large doors on the inboard wall provide ample access to the engine room.
Furthest aft is the owners’ stateroom with a queen size centerline berth with a real 11” spring mattress providing the highest comfort possible, hanging lockers and bureaus on both port and starboard, a vanity with large mirror and drawer, drawers under the bed and a private head with separate stall shower.
The sole is teak and holly throughout.
